Nebula NGC 6960, dubbed the "Witch's Broom." It's part of the Veil Nebula supernova remnant, which was created when a massive star exploded about 9,000 years ago. The painting is of just part of this huge nebula structure which is 1400 light years away towards the constellation of Cygnus.
