“Shining jewel” is a half crescent of our home world set against a curtain of distant stars. Our 4.5 billion year old home is indeed a beautiful planet and serves as a constant inspiration to me as an aerospace / astronomical artist and as a “tenant”.

Everything we know and love inhabits this enticing blue dot in space. My current set of earth paintings was prompted by re-watching the Carl Sagan “ pale blue dot” piece recorded several years before his death in 1996 - http://thepaleblue.org/about/pbd-speech/
